-
Yes. During the live auction, you can use the Q&A section on the listing to ask the seller questions directly and get clarification on anything you want to understand before bidding.
-
Each listing includes the vehicle details dealers need to make an informed decision — including VIN, mileage, photos, videos, condition information, title and lien status, seller disclosures, and other relevant details. During the auction, you can also use the Q&A section to ask the seller directly about anything you’d like clarified.
-
Yes. Save any listing you’re interested in and choose the notifications you want to receive, including reminders when there’s one hour left and again when there are 15 minutes remaining in the auction.
-
It’s simple: verify your phone number, add your dealership information, and upload a valid, readable dealer license. Once your account is verified, you’ll be able to view pricing, bid, and participate in the marketplace.
-
Only verified, licensed dealers can bid on BTT. This keeps the marketplace dealer-only and ensures every bidder has completed the verification process before participating.
-
Create saved searches based on the vehicles you’re looking for, and the system can notify you when matching inventory goes live. That way, you don’t have to constantly check the marketplace for the right cars.
-
Yes. Verified dealers can list and sell vehicles on BTT with no seller fee. It’s a simple way to move wholesale or aged inventory while also earning BTT Rewards.
-
Each listing shows the vehicle’s location so you know where it is before you bid. Because vehicles come directly from consumers, they remain with the seller until the transaction is completed.
Auctions, bidding & fees
-
BTT is free to join, with no subscription fees or minimums. When you place a bid, we place a $500 hold on the card you have on file. If you win, the $500 buyer fee is charged to that card unless you use 500 BTT Rewards to cover it. If you don’t win, the hold is released.
No percentages, no escalating fees — just one flat $500 buyer fee. -
You earn BTT Rewards every time you use the marketplace — whether you buy, sell, or list a vehicle. Once you reach 500 BTT Rewards, you can use them in place of the $500 buyer fee on a future purchase.
-
If you’re the winning bidder when the auction closes, you’re committed to completing the purchase. If you identify a significant undisclosed difference before payment, work directly with the seller to resolve it and use the BTT closeout process if you’re unable to do so.
-
The integrity of the marketplace is critical to everyone’s success. Every vehicle is reviewed before it goes live, and we only list vehicles when the requested reserve falls within the wholesale range.
-
If the reserve isn’t met, the vehicle doesn’t sell and there’s no obligation to buy it.
-
Enter the most you’re willing to pay, and the system will automatically place the minimum bid needed to keep you in the lead — up to your maximum. Once your ceiling is reached, the system stops bidding for you.
-
You can choose from a variety of notification settings, including alerts when you’ve been outbid. That way, you can jump back in and increase your bid before the auction closes.
-
All auctions go live at 1 PM and are scheduled to close at 5 PM. Unlike a traditional auction, vehicles don’t cross the block one at a time — every listing is live for the full four-hour window. If there’s last-second bidding, that individual auction remains open until the bidding stops.
-
Yes. You can bid right up until the scheduled 5 PM close. If there’s last-second bidding, that individual auction will remain open until the bidding stops.
Payment, paperwork & pickup
-
The winning dealer is responsible for completing the transaction and taking possession of the vehicle. If you want to confirm the vehicle matches the listing before paying, you’ll need to go to the vehicle, verify that it is as represented, complete payment, and then take the vehicle with you.
If the seller agrees to bring the vehicle to the dealership, the verification and payment can happen there. In either case, pickup or delivery takes place only after payment is completed. -
Accepted payment methods are shown on each listing. After you win, coordinate payment and pickup directly with the seller. Payment and pickup are expected to be completed within three days of the auction ending. If you’d like to see the vehicle before paying, simply arrange a time with the seller that works for both of you.
-
Title and lien information is disclosed in each listing. From there, handle the transaction just as you would with a consumer trading a vehicle in at your dealership — follow your normal process for verifying the title, confirming any payoff, paying the lienholder when applicable, and completing the title transfer.
-
Yes. If you’d like to see the vehicle before making payment, coordinate directly with the seller and arrange a time that works for both of you. Just keep in mind that the transaction should be completed within three days of the auction ending.
-
Payment and pickup are expected to be completed within three days of the auction ending. Sellers are motivated to move quickly, so the sooner you connect and coordinate the transaction, the better for everyone.
-
The dealer and seller complete the transaction paperwork directly, just as you would with a consumer trading a vehicle in at your dealership. Follow your normal process for the title, bill of sale, lien or payoff documents, and any other required forms.
-
We ask detailed title and lien questions during the listing process to help make sure the vehicle is ready to be sold. That information is disclosed in the listing, and you’re encouraged to use the Q&A during the auction to ask the seller any additional title or paperwork questions before bidding.
-
Once payment and pickup are complete, close out the transaction on BTT. This confirms the deal is finished, earns your BTT Rewards, updates your dealer history, and helps build your reviews and standing across the marketplace.
-
The winning dealer is responsible for arranging transportation after the transaction is completed. You can pick the vehicle up yourself or arrange transport. If the seller is willing and it works for both parties, they may also bring the vehicle to the dealership.
Problems & refunds
-
If you identify a significant issue before payment that wasn’t disclosed in the listing, work directly with the seller to reach an amicable resolution. If you’re unable to resolve it, don’t make payment for the vehicle. Document the issue through the BTT closeout process so the circumstances can be reviewed and eligibility for a refund of the BTT buyer fee can be determined.
-
Once the reserve has been met and you’re the winning bidder, the seller is expected and motivated to complete the sale — they set the reserve and agreed in advance to sell the vehicle at that price or higher. If the seller does not complete the transaction, use the BTT closeout process to document what happened and provide the relevant details so we can review the situation and determine eligibility for a refund of the BTT buyer fee.
-
Winning dealers are expected to complete the transaction, and the $500 BTT buyer fee applies when you win. If something prevents the transaction from being completed, document what happened through the BTT closeout process.
BTT will review the circumstances and determine whether any buyer-fee refund is appropriate. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis, are not automatic, and are not guaranteed. An incomplete transaction may also impact your BTT reviews, dealer history, and standing on the marketplace. -
Once you’ve completed payment and taken delivery, the transaction is complete. It’s your responsibility to make sure you’re comfortable with the vehicle before that happens. Any issues discovered afterward are the dealer’s responsibility — just as they would be with any vehicle you take in on trade.
